Journey to the Holy Land
With Hamferð in Wacken 2012
I was asked to make a photo documentary about Hamferð's journey to Wacken Open Air 2012. They were the faroese participants in the Wacken Metal Battle 2012-competition. This is the story about our journey to the largest metal music festival in Europe, Wacken Open Air. The festival ground is situated in the small village of Wacken, Germany. Each year around 75 000 metal heads pilgrimage there to take part of the almost one week long festival.
The photo reportage was published in Inferno.net. I made also a reportage (with text) for Imperiumi.net. Hamferð published the documentary photos as a Facebook album.
Hamferð won the Wacken Metal Battle 2012 at Wacken Open Air. The Faroese newspapers published news of the winner featuring my photos. It was an epic journey for all of us.
