Fighters They Bleed
A photo documentary about a Faroese metal band 2008 – 2010
A photo documentary about and made together with the Faroese metal band SIC. I am portraying the everyday life of the band on the Faroe Islands. To these images are also intertwined more outstanding circumstances from the band's tour in Europe and from other musical scenes.
The exhibition consists of digital colour prints (mounted between 3mm acrylic and 2 mm dibond, Fotosec Pro) and a video installation, an experimental documentary film (duration 50 minutes). To the exhibition opening at Hippolyte Gallery belonged also a performance by Magnús Logi Kristinsson called This is Black Metal. See some photos of the performance here.
The Fighters They Bleed-exhibition was displayed at the Hippolyte Gallery in Helsinki, Finland in December 2010. A version of the video installation was screened on SIC's Fighters They Bleed-album release concert at the Nordic House in the Faroe Islands on August 21, 2010.
A series of photographs from Fighters They Bleed got a honorary mention in the 2010 International Photography Award (Lucie Award) by Lucie Foundation (US) in the category People: Culture / Pro.
